The Engineer is a vital element to any army due to the irreplaceable role of infrastructure development.
Engineers are small utility buildings consisting of a truck, an Engineer and a workshop that can only be purchased with the use of Gold. In order to fortify, construct or upgrade any building, a free engineer is required and the same goes for obstacles on your island. As building upgrade times can become exasperating later in the game, it is vital to save valuable gold on engineers earlier on.
An Engineer is given to you at the beginning of the game and another can be purchased during the tutorial.
The Engineer and workshop take up 3x3 cells in the game world and can only be built on the land.

Trivia[]
- Up to five (six on the PS4 platform) Engineers can be owned and used around your islands. As they are the only functional facility to require gold rather than command bunker development, it is possible to technically acquire all possible engineers at any point in the game as long as they can be paid for.
- Engineers will employ a landing craft when working on aquatic structures.
- There is only one level of the building available.
